Reconcilliation 2021
Last Wednesday evening some of Year 3 /4 students celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This was a very special time for them in their faith journey and they were well supported by their parents, teachers and Fr Dom. In their preparation leading up to evening, the students explored the power of forgiveness, using Jesus as their role model. They looked at scripture such as the Prodigal Son and the Lost Sheep which Jesus used to explain that they are all loved by God no matter what they do wrong.
Thank you to Mrs Harland and Mrs Nielsen for instructing the candidates and Mrs Haworth for her organisation of the Sacrament. A special thanks to Father Dom for receiving the students for the Sacrament on Wednesday evening and assisting in helping the children not feel so nervous for this special occasion.
There are some candidates still to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This will be early in Term 2 at a date to be decided and communicated.
Hunter Connellan and Nell Ramsay attended the MacKillop swimming trials in Sydney last Monday. Both students loved the experience of swimming at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Pool and diving off the blocks.
Canberra Goulburn Rugby League Trials
Today the Canberra Goulburn Rugby League trials were held in Queanbeyan NSW. These trials are hotly contested and a place in the Canberra Goulburn team is hard to come by. Bobby Bryant and Nixon Loudon headed to the trials and it is reported they both played very well. The boys were not advised as to the outcome of the selection trials today, but hope to find out soon.
