St Mary's Special Visitor
At assembly last Friday we had a surprise visitor…. Josh Hanlon came to present the weekly awards and speak to us all about representing Australia in the sitting Slalom event at the recent the Beijing Paralympics.
Wow! What an inspirational young man who turned adversity into triumph by working hard, setting goals and achieving them in a sport he never knew before he got sick. His love of sport, positive approach and genuine desire to do his best has got him where he is today.
Thank you Josh for sharing your story with our school community. We are all in awe of you and the fact that your final placing was 6th in the event! Regardless of what you placed though, you are a hero to all Australians particularly in your hometown. You showed us that we are capable of anything if we put our hearts and minds into it!
We wish Josh every success as he continues his training and endeavours for the next olympics. Good luck in your Wheelchair Rugby match coming up as well!
Thank you for your time Josh!
