Welcome to the new term. I trust everyone had a lovely break and spent some quality time with their families. Like every term, we have little time to settle in as we have a lot going on. On Thursday of Week 1, we will send 25 students to Batlow for the Western Region Cross Country. We know you will represent St Mary’s superbly. If you haven’t already, please ensure you’ve provided consent for your child on Compass. Please contact the school if you are experiencing any difficulties with this.

Last Thursday St Mary’s was represented by a group of committed students at the ANZAC Day march. The students looked fabulous in their winter uniforms and marched with pride. A reminder you still have until the 1^st of June to organise your winter uniforms. Until then you can wear either summer or winter.

This term we welcome Mrs Kate Dean to the St Mary’s teaching staff and Mr Mark Hughes. I wish Mrs Colleen Breust all the best as she begins her new role of Religious Education Coordinator. I would also like to pass on my congratulations to Anna Davis who was successful in gaining the part-time Learning Support Assistant role at St Mary’s. Students would be familiar with Anna as she worked casually in the role last year and in Term 1. I wish Anna all the best for the remainder of 2024 and thank her for her commitment to St Mary’s.  

Term 2 began yesterday with a Staff Development Day where staff discussed and reflected on the effectiveness of school wide processes as we continued the system wide Catalyst journey. We are blessed at St Mary’s to have such committed and professional staff who reflect on their practice to ensure the children at St Mary’s are given the best education possible.
