A Message from our Acting Principal
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to Week 2. There is always so much happening at St Mary’s. Thank you to everyone for the organisation of the students for our photo shoot on Friday. Anne Cooper from Temora does a fabulous job and I look forward to seeing her pictures. It was very easy for her to photograph the school, we’re blessed with fabulous grounds and facilities and our amazing students looked lovely in their winter uniforms. The pictures will be used for our kinder enrolment period, our Facebook and Instagram pages and any promotional work we do.
Well done to the 17 athletes who travelled to Batlow for the Western Region Cross Country on Thursday. The spirit, encouragement, and camaraderie that the students exhibited was a pleasure to be a part of. More information in regard to where our students finished will be outlined later in the newsletter.
On Wednesday we will hold our Mother’s Day Mass in the hall. I look forward to seeing all the Mums, Grandmothers and Nans from our St Mary’s community and honouring and recognising all they do for our lovely students. Also, on Wednesday we will hold our annual Mother’s Day stall here at school with gifts priced at $2, $5 and $8. Dads, please send some money in with your children so they can spoil their mum this Sunday!!
This week classes at St Mary’s will begin their Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT). This is part of the system wide assessment program and will provide teachers with necessary data to help them inform their teaching and where to take their students to next in their learning journey.
Next Wednesday (15th) will be our book fair. Students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character. Classes will also be invited to purchase books at the Book Fair. The Book Fair will be held in the music room. It will be a little tight for room, but with the hall currently being used as our Church we will have to make do. Thanks for your understanding!!!
Remember my door is always open.
