A Message from our Principal
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to Week 7, how good is Spring!?!?! Longer days, warmer weather, you can’t beat it!! Just a reminder that now that the warmer weather is upon us ties and beanies can be put away until 2025. Students are reminded they need to wear their hats at Recess and Lunch or play in the shade as the weather is heating up. We need to remember to be sun smart.
A special thanks to Andrew Connellan and Rod Smith for installing our new soccer goals the kids love them. It is great to work at school where there is so much community involvement. If you would like to help at our school, our working bee is coming up on Sunday the 15th of September.
Next Wednesday, our Year 5 and 6 students will travel to the New South Wales Touch Gala Day held in Parkes. This is the first time we’ve competed in this and the students are looking forward to the opportunity. Mrs Taylor will accompany them. I’m sure our students will be fabulous representatives of St Mary’s. More information can be found on Compass.
Congratulations to Will McDonell (5/6 Faith) and Meila Fair (3 Peace) who qualified for the MacKillop Trials in Sydney on the 25th of September. Will finished 2nd in the 11 year boys 200m and Meila finished 2nd in the 9yr girls 100m. Well done superstars!!!
A reminder the West Wyalong show is on tomorrow and the school will be closed for the day. I look forward to seeing you there and the students’ fabulous artwork that will be on display. Please remind students to leave anything they’ve purchased from the show at home and not bring them to school on Thursday.
Last week Nickey Harland was appointed as the Assistant Principal at St Mary’s for 2025 and beyond. I congratulate Nickey on her appointment and look forward to continuing to work with her in the future.
Remember my door is always open.
