Dear Parents and Carers,

It was just wonderful to see our new Kinder students today for their first orientation day. Although it was only half a day, I can assure you that Mrs Meincke covered many things and will go home worn out and in need of a good rest, as I am sure is the case for the 19 students that came along. The group accepted the COVID-19 changes we had to make this year, said a quick good bye to mum’s and dad’s and jumped straight into story time. A huge thank you to our new Kinder parents for understanding our situation and adapting to the restrictions that have been put in place. We look forward to next Friday when the group returns for another half day of fun and school activities.

While it is fantastic our students are in their new classrooms and parts of the project are nearing completion, Stage 3 of the project is in its infancy. The demolition of the old kinder room, Year 1/2 room and office area are almost finished. Steel reinforcement and structures are due to be installed next week, with internal sheeting to begin shortly after. Please see pictures below for the amazing transformation that is taking place.

The completion of the entire project has be put back to March 2021 next year as 2 major variations have been approved in recent weeks. One being the new roof and the other being a full remodel of the draining system and new slab between the main building and central building where the current office is located.

Children should wear comfortable clothes and a hat.  They will need a piece of fruit, recess and a drink for the two half days.  On the full days they will need their lunch as well.

Drop off will be at the Parish Centre at 8:55am, so please park in the church car park.  Mrs Meincke will be there to take the children into the school.  Pickup will be at midday also from the Parish Centre.  Unfortunately parents are not allowed into the school grounds due to COVID restrictions.

Mrs Emma McRae our counsellor will be visiting our school next week on Wednesday the 11th of November.

Emma will be holding her counselling sessions face to face while maintaining the appropriate social distancing protocols.
