We would to thank the parents and helpers who gave their time to support our swimming carnival, without your help our carnival could not go ahead:

• Thank you to the parents who helped on Thursday for the medley - Wendy Connellan, Andrew Connellan, Emily Patton and Will Dean.
• Thank you to the parents who helped with the timing and other roles during the carnival - Amanda Gaynor, Kate Dean, Christina Harper, Brodie Greenwood, Andrew Connellan, Sarah Curry, Emily Patton and Rob Ramsay.
• A special thank you to Eric Spargo, the manager of the pool, who did the stroke judging and a variety of other jobs.
• Finally a super special thank you to Alison Seaman who setup and ran our carnival on the West Wyalong Swim Club computer system, allowing us to use electronic timing for the first time.  This was a wonderful improvement for our timers and saved a lot of worry.  Alison gave her own time and shared her skills with a smile and a can do attitude.

• Medical Form (orange) - All Years - Please complete and return the form to the school office.  A new form is required for each student every year.  If you indicate your child has asthma, even if seasonal, an action plan from your doctor is required to be held at the school office along with a puffer and spacer labelled with your child's name.
• Walking Permission Note - All Years - Please complete the online form, this can be found in the article in this newsletter.

Mrs Emma McRae our counsellor will be visiting St Mary's this week on Friday the 18th of February.

Emma will be holding her counselling sessions face to face while maintaining the appropriate social distancing protocols.

At times during the school year your child/ren will participate in off premises cultural and sporting learning activities within walking distance of the school.

For example Book Week at the Bland Shire Library, performances at the S&C Club, training at the stadium or Perseverance Oval.

As part of St Mary's "duty of care" responsibility, risk assessment documents must be submitted to Catholic Education Office Canberra Goulburn for these events.  As most of these excursions are low key, for a short duration and do not require monetary payment, parents are notified of the actual date, time and event via the newsletter.

This permission note covers your child/ren attending these events for the 2022 school  year.

If at any time you do not wish your child to attend an event off premises, after specific notification, please contact the school.

Due to the current COVID risk adverse approach adopted by Catholic Education our Getting to Know Your Child interviews will be held via telephone.

Interviews for all Year 1 to Year 6 students will be held next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3.30pm. 

These interviews are held in Term 1 to enable parents to speak about their child's strengths and where they might require some help.

The booking form link will be sent on Friday afternoon to parents via text to their mobile phone number.  If you do not recieve this text please contact the office so we can check our contact information. 

You will need to be registered to our SZ App to be able to book an appointment, the same email you input when you created a login to our SZ App is used to book an appointment.

    

    

The eSafety Commissioners Website has been set up to help safeguard all Australians from online harms and to promote safer, more positive online experiences.

They  use research, evidence and experience to lead and advise parents on online safety issues in order to prevent online harm by developing resources and programs based on robust evidence. There are also a series of webinars parents can engage in to keep up to date.

Attached is a copy of the scheduled webinars for the year but we also encourage parents to continually view the website below to keep informed about the latest issues with online safety issues.

We will put information in the newsletter throughout the year concerning eSafety to assist parents.
