Dear Parents and Carers,
Term 3 has been another big term at St Mary’s. As the term comes to a close we maintain our commitment to learning with an attitude of finishing ‘strong’. Our staff have shown incredible commitment to our school, ensuring the teaching and learning of the students has been maintained at all times. I’m sure you will all join me in congratulating them for the work they have done in the second half of the term.
Term 4 is shaping up to be more stable for our teaching staff. I am pleased to announce the appointment of Miss Georgie McKelvie to teacher Year 2 for remainder of the 2023 school year. Georgie is in the final stages of completing her teaching degree and is currently a conditional teacher with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). Georgie is currently living in Temora and has achieved outstanding results in her university degree to date. I would like to welcome Georgie to St Mary’s and look forward to a fantastic term ahead.
I will have other staff announcements coming soon and I will communicate these when I’m legally able. I wish the entire school community a restful and safe holiday and hope the time is used to recharge the batteries ready for an always eventful term 4. Thank you for your ongoing support of St Mary’s.
Kind Regards,
Phil Nielsen
Principal
RESILIENT
In partnership with families, we are dedicated to educating children who are:
Resilient - Jesus challenges us to understand that although life may be very difficult at times, God promises He will give us the strength to bounce back.
A Prayer for Resilience
Deliver me from evil and lead me to success. No matter what trials I face, I know in my heart that my faith in You and the mission I have on earth will keep me going.
Amen.

Thank you to Lisa Mammoliti and Bernadette Scott for their time at St Mary’s. Lisa spent three days in 2 Mercy. Bernadette spent her time with 5/6 Faith and with some of our teachers working on their Religious Education programs for Term 4. We thank them and the Catholic Education Office in Canberra for their support.
Well done to all students who performed at the choir festival we hosted last week. The choir finished in 3rd position. This is a fantastic result and a true testament to their dedication and professionalism. In particular thank you to Mrs Harland for preparing the students so beautifully, Mr Nielsen for coordinating the event and Mrs Daniher for judging. Great team effort!!!
Congratulations to Georgia Thomas who has been working with Mrs Nielsen in Kindergarten. She will finish her final practicum experience this week. She will then be a fully qualified teacher. We look forward to seeing her around the school in Term 4!! Thank you for everything you’ve done for our beautiful kinder students.
Ricky Smith and Edie Dean
