Good luck to the students participating in the CPS Basketball in Sydney this weekend. We hope that everyone travels safely and has a great time as respresentatives of our school.
We are confident that everyone will play to the best of their ability and demonstrate good sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
Thank you to Mother Teresa Early Learning Centre in Harrison in the ACT who recently held an art show of their students paintings. The profit from the sale of the painting was generously donated to St Mary's for our swimming program.
Thank you to Sam and Jenny Bailey (Sam pictured above with the children) who visited St Mary's and spoke to the students. It was very inspirational for our children to listen to Sam's messages for life. We also thank Riverina Bluebell who organised and sponsored the visit.
Thank you to Effie and Chris from Scienza Viva who ran an interactive science show for all students on Tuesday. The students enjoyed the hands on approach to science experiments.
Mrs Akehurst attended the Principal's meeting this week and has received the staffing allocation for our school for 2019.
These details and other important information concerning changes to class arrangements can be found at this link. Please take the time to read this important information.
Reminder - School Communication
St Mary's uses the Schoolzine Parent Platform to provide our eNewsletter, Mobile App and Website.
The school newsletter is available every Friday and is sent to families via email. It is also available on the website and SZApp.
The newsletter is our first and preferred official way of distributing news, event details and other information for parents.
Parents are encouranged to refer back to the newsletter when they require last minute up to date information. Remember a copy is always available on the SZApp.
The school calendar is also available on the website and SZApp and can now be filtered by class groups. Parents can click on an event and find copies of permission notes and other information about that event.
Using the SZApp to access the newsletter and calendar is a very quick and easy way to find official school information.
For instructions to download the SZapp click here.

We have indicated if the school will provide your childs costume in the tables below.
- If TBA is next to your child Mrs Harland is still considering the costume so please wait till advised of requirements.
- If there is nothing in the costume column for your child we are hoping you can put together a costume. More information will be provided next week. Please don't feel obliged to purchase a costume as we will give examples that should be cost effective and simple. We may even have costumes at school from previous years that can be modified to suit the character.

Costume List for Kinder, Years 1-3
Costume requirements have not been finalised.
The school will provide more details on the types of outfits worn in 16th century England next week so parents can then get together an outfit that is simple and cost effective.
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. It partners with local churches in developing nations to reach out to children by providing gift-filled shoeboxes and bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ. After receiving shoebox gifts, many children are also invited back to participate in The Greatest Journey – an evangelism and discipleship program.
For more information on Operation Christmas Child click on this link Operation Christmas Child.
- We will have boxes at school if families wish to take one and pack their own.
- We will also be collecting donated items and packing some boxes at school.
Click on this link to find gift ideas.
We need to have your donations by Wednesday November 7th for collection by November 9.
Here are some lovely pictures of our students at the "The Let’s Find Out About Science" show on Tuesday.
This interactive show had demonstrations in a few areas of science such as biology with giant stick insects, chemistry with film canister rockets and physics with water wheels.
