Our sympathy is extended to the Atfield family on the loss of Joel's grandmother last week.
As a blessing each day before lunch Mrs Cuthbertson and Year 3/4 Trust use an active rap prayer to say thank you for their daily food. What a lovely way to give thanks.
Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
He’s the one we love the most.
He’s cool, he’s hip, he’s quite a dude
And we thank him for our daily food.
So the next time you make a toast
Make it The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
AMEN

West Wyalong Show Day Information
Wednesday 4th September
The West Wyalong Show Day is a half day public holiday in our town. In lieu of the St Mary's Twilight Swimming Carnival, the CEO Canberra Goulburn has granted approval for our school to close for the morning of show day.
This means children and staff will not come to school on show day and gives everyone an opportunity to enjoy a full day at the show. Bus companies have been informed of this change.

Daughter of the Regiment - Year 5/6 Library
5 / 6 Faith and 5 / 6 Hope have been reading Daughter of the Regiment by Jackie French during their library lessons. It tells the story of Cecilia, a young colonial girl through the eyes of Harry, who discovers a hole in his chook house wall enabling him to see the past.
As a literacy task, the students looked closely at the conversation that Cecilia has with Sergeant Wilkes about her future in the colony. The students worked in groups to compose the narrative and dialogue of the conversation that Sergeant Wilkes has with Captain Piper regarding Cecelia's wish to remain with the Regiment.
We emailed Jackie French and sent off our published writings as well as photos of our artworks inspired by the novel.
Jackie's was very excited to receive our students work and she gave Mrs Daniher permission to print her reply in the newlsetter:
Dear Louise,
They are brilliant! I love the dialogue, and the different interpretations and the artwork. It was such a joy to read them. Excuse my not writing to each one of you - my back was accidentally fractured during surgery and I'm limited in what I can do. But I loved reading them. Thank you for writing them, for putting so much imagination into each one, and for sending them to me. I loved each one. May you all have so many wonderful years of reading, writing and making your dreams come true. Lots of love, Jackie

Our school currently has a student enrolled who has a compromised immune system and is more vulnerable to disease than other students. Therefore, it is important that you do not send your children to school if they are unwell.
Your child should also stay at home if they have any infectious disease, coughs, runny noses, a temperature, diarrhoea or other infections. For more information about how long an illness is contagious, contact your GP or visit the NSW Health website at health.nsw.gov.au.
