The Australian Plenary Council has been officially launched, kicking-off 2018 as a “Year of Listening”. Following that, local “Animators” will be trained to facilitate “Open Dialogue and Listening Sessions” within their local parishes and faith communities.

These sessions will be guided according to broad themes. Participants are invited to “Listen to God by listening to one another.” To prepare the agenda for the Plenary Council, all of God’s people are invited to reflect on the question:

"What do you think God is asking of us in Australia at this time?”

Volunteers - Working with Children Check

Any parents who volunteer at St Mary's for any activities will need to provide their Working with Children Check number to the school.

This includes volunteer drivers, helping in canteen, assisting in the classroom or helping at sports events.

The WWCC is free for volunteers and is valid for 5 years.

We would advise all parents who help at the school in any capacity to apply for a WWCC and supply their clearance number and date of birth to the school office. We do not need to see any paperwork. For Mrs Akehurst to verify your WWCC number she will also need to know your date of birth.

Rosary Garden

We are calling for tenders from any interested parties to create a Rosary Garden like the one pictured for our school playground. Please call Robyn to discuss the details.

Pupil Free Day Term 3

Our Pupil Free Day for Term 3 is the first day of the term Monday 23 July.

Staff will be attending a Spirituality Day.

Students will return to school for Term 3 on Tuesday 24 July.

Sports News

Good luck to Kelsie Glasgow, Claudia Murdoch and Keelan Glasgow who compete at the CPS Cross Country in Sydney on Friday 15 June.

Owen Heffer attended the Canberra Goulburn Rugby Trials in Yass on Monday.

Owen showed impressive skills and commitment and was selected in the CG team to play at the MacKillop Trials on Monday 2 July.

Well done Owen.

P&F News

Our P & F will be holding a Pie Drive this term.

Order forms will be out next week and orders will close on June 29, for pickup at the school canteen on 5 July between 1 and 4pm.

French Hot Bakery will supply the pies and sweet items as we like to support local retailers.

A new canteen menu will be posted on the website and app next week. The soup will be removed from the menu. However soup will be available occasionally when it is cooked fresh and a notice will be posted on the P&F Facebook Page when it is available.
