God of all peoples and nations, you accompany us on our Lenten journey.
Through the life and mission of your son, you give us the gift of mercy.
May we learn to walk your way of justice and compassion with all your people.
In a special way, we keep in mind the children, women and men around the world who are most vulnerable to extreme poverty and injustice.
May we support young people as they recognise that through their efforts, their desire to change and their generosity, they too are participating in the building of a better world.
Bless our prayers, our fasting and our Lenten gifts to Project Compassion.
Through these actions, may our hearts be open to receive your grace as we work towards a just future for all your creation.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen

CARITAS PROJECT COMPASSION 2020
Your eldest child will have brought home a Project Compassion box for your family, extended family and friends. We are hoping that as a community we can raise funds for this worthy cause. Your families Project Compassion boxes should be sent back to school in Week One, Term Two.
At St Mary’s we are promoting the theme, Let's Go Further, and we are running a class competition to generate the children's understanding and interest. Money for the class boxes should just be brought to school in an envelope and put in the class box.
Each week of Lent, we will share the story of another person who always goes further. These stories show how Caritas Australia’s training, development and support have improved their way of life.
Twenty-seven-year-old, Phany lives in a village in western Cambodia. Struggling to earn a living as a farmer, she was forced to leave her daughter behind in the village, to take up construction work in the city. In 2016, Phany joined the Upholding Community Dignity Together program, run by Caritas Australia, in partnership with the Environment Protection and Development Organisation (EPDO). Phany learned new farming techniques, such as a drip irrigation system, which enabled her to get a better yield from her vegetable crops, and to conserve water for drier periods.
- Just a reminder of oustanding monies due to the office - $10 for Life Education and $6 for the Zoomobile (per child) if you have not already done so. Thank you very much.

Student Pickup and Drop Off - Building Works
Please note that parents must not drive along the back lane which runs through the school.
Even if the gates are open, under no circumstances should parents drive down this lane as a short cut.
Please be mindful of our students and their safety.
Happy Birthday to
Adele Jones
who celebrates her birthday next week.
We hope you enjoy your special day.
National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence
St Mary's will be marking the National Day of Action against Bullying next Friday 13th of March.
Please note we are doing this a week early as it fits with our planning.
To reinforce this theme students may wear mufti to school, with an emphasis on the colour orange. This can just be a splash of colour or the whole hog! We will be serving some orange treats in the canteen as well.
Canteen Menu - Updated pricing and menu
Please read our new canteen menu. There have been some price changes and some items changed. This will begin from Monday 2nd March.
Changes to note:
- We are now serving chicken tenders instead of sliced chicken meat.
- There is now a plain chicken tender option for non-spice lovers, but the sweet chilli tender is still available - just specify on the lunch bag.
- Vegetarian options of a salad roll or wrap have been added as well as vegetable noodle cups.
- A chocolate billabong ice cream option has been added.
- Party pies have gone up in price individually but there is now an option of 4 for $5.
- Heating up / toasting food from home on Monday & Wednesday is still available but the cost has risen to 50c.
Thank you for your understanding of price rises and your continued support of our canteen.
Canteen Roster Volunteers
We are still looking for volunteers for the following days:
- two volunteers Wednesday the 8th of April. Wednesday the 8th of April is a special lunch order day of hot dogs so it is an easier preparation day!
Please let us know if you can help via our Facebook page or you can call the school office.
