Dear Parents and Carers
Once again I thank all our parents who have managed their day to day commitments while offering support to their children as they engage in the remote learning we have offered.
I just want to reiterate our return to school plan which was sent in a email to all parents today and also let parents know they can apply for a school fee reduction if they have have suffered a reduction in their primary source of income as a result of COVID-19. Please see the information below and send the appropriate information to the school if you would like to apply.
RETURN TO SCHOOL PLAN
An email was sent today on our plan to return to school as per the NSW government advice.
St Mary's has ear marked Monday 25 May as the most likely date that all students will return to school. The school is in the position to adjust this date if the current situation changes. Any changes will be communicated at the earliest possible opportunity.
I emphasise that for the next two weeks we are still in a remote learning capacity (as advised by the state government) and children have been invited to attend school one day per week. St Mary's will support parents who have work commitments for more than one day a week, however on days where a parent is home it is expected that children stay home with them. This is extremely important in the next two weeks as attendance numbers increase and if you have been sending students to school when you have had a day off work I urge you to comply with this request.
FEE RELIEF
The CE are offering fee remission to families however they must fulfil certain criteria to be eligible for the COVID-19 fee relief.
The level of relief depends on the family's circumstances but the parent/career who is responsible for the payment of school fees needs to have suffered a reduction in their primary source of income due to one of the below critereia as a result of COVID-19:
- Redundancy
- Stand down
- Reduction in hours
- Business owners - closure
- Business owners - reduced turnover
- Loss of income - carers duty
- Loss of income - infection / quarantine
- Other reasons not listed above
