18th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jesus insists that he is the true bread from heaven; he is the real basis of our survival. The people followed him because they saw him as a source of bread; they did not realise that he is really the source of life. If we fill ourselves with all that the world provides as nourishment we will still hunger. Only faith in Jesus can satisfy our deepest hungers, and we will not be able to survive apart from him.
“I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger.”

UPDATE - Year 5/6 Biannual Canberra Excursion
The dates proposed are Term 4, Week 1 Wednesday 6th October to Friday 8th October, 2021.
Costing has not been finalised but we were looking between $250 - $350 maximum. At the moment restrictions don't allow school excursions but we are hoping that by Term 4 this may be lifted and the students can still attend the excursion. A final decision will be made in Week 10.
Payment for the excursion will be accepted when a decision has been made. Please start planning to make full payment in the last week of Term 3 to avoid financial stress. As always please contact the Principal if you need to discuss the payment.
Keeping our children at St Mary’s safe is paramount and part of this is working with our families to keep them up to date with the latest information on child safety issues. We will continue to communicate these through our newsletter.
Parents and carers of children aged 8 -13 yrs old are invited to register for the e-safety commissioners education and training teams FREE webinars “ Taking a look at TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and You Tube” coming up in August.
The dates and details for registration are below if parents would like to be more informed about these apps and how you can support your child so they can enjoy these apps and stay safe.

Thank you!
The P&F appreciate all our volunteers and know it is difficult to help out as many parents have full time work and busy families.
We are still looking for volunteers for the canteen this term and if you can help please let us know.
We would like to thank Kate Carey who volunteered to open the canteen last Wednesday and for the next two as well, in addition to taking home and bagging up the loose lollies into lolly bags.

Grandparent's Mass
Our Grandparent's Mass was another beautiful celebration at St Mary's. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions we could not have grandparents onsite, however we hope that those who joined our mass remotely enjoyed the experience.
A Religious Life
During free art time on Friday Louis Morton demonstrated his interest in religious studies. He made himself a stole so that he could look like Father Dom.
