We wish them all the best as they make a commitment to their faith journey. May the Holy Spirit be their guide and inspiration as they seek to understand and follow in the way of God and his plan for their life. We especially thank their parents, Sponsors, and teachers who have helped them along their way in preparation for this Sacrament. A special mention to Father Dom who will officiate the Sacrament on Sunday.
Spirit of God, grant me:
The gift of wisdom to see the world through your eyes,
The gift of right judgment to make difficult decisions,
The gifts of knowledge and understanding to use my mind to know you and to love you,
The gift of courage to have the bravery to live in the faith despite the difficulties and disappointments,
The gift of reverence to be able to express my special love and commitment to you,
And the right kind of awesome wonder that makes me pause to admire and revere God’s Love.
Amen.
Parents wishing to enrol their child in the 2023 Kindergarten class are asked to have their online enrolment application or enrolment forms completed ASAP.
This will allow the school time to finalise staffing arrangements for next year. Letters of welcome with orientation information will be emailed to all enrolled students next week.

Please ensure your child is at school before 8.00am with their school allocated footy gear including boots plus a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and the food they will require for the day.
THERE IS NO CANTEEN OPERATING.
We also advise a change of clothes.
Mrs Harland and Mrs Nielsen will be with the students on the bus and at the games.
Parents are most welcome to attend to cheer on the teams.
The students in Year 3 and 5 will be given their NAPLAN results today.
NAPLAN has been designed to give schools and parents a snap shot of student’s progression in English and Mathematics.
As can be the case with some tests, NAPLAN results don’t always match classroom assessment data. It is important to understand that NAPLAN is one of many forms of data that the school and teachers use to establish an overall indication of the progression of students in English and Mathematics.
If you would like to discuss your child’s NAPLAN results further please make contact with your child’s class teacher.
UPDATE - Year 5/6 Biannual Canberra Excursion
More information will follow before the end of Term 3, with details, consent and payment via our Compass App.
Our school counsellor has advised St Mary's of a webinar for parents on helping their children with positive social skills.
The webinar is tomorrow but parents can still register at the link below.
Social skills webinar
Positive social skills help children get along with others and make friends, but children don’t always know when or how to use social skills. If you can recognise when your child needs help and give them the opportunity to practise their social skills, it can make a big difference.
In this webinar, we’ll explain:
- why social skills are important
- when your child might need help with social skills
- how you can help your child develop positive social skills
- where to go for extra help.
If you have a child aged 3-11 years, this webinar is suitable for you.
In the webinar, you’ll be able to ask questions, share experiences and hear other parents’ experiences and ideas.
Presented by: Daniel Peyton
As a paediatrician, Daniel is passionate about helping children reach their potential. He’s particularly interested in helping parents support their children and is currently researching how to better help parents find online support for children’s mental health.
When: Tuesday 6 September 2022, 7 pm AEST or at these times in other states.
Duration: 40 minutes, followed by a 20-minute question and answer session
Sign up to join this free, live webinar on social skills, or to get a recording if you can’t attend the live webinar.
