A Message from our Acting Principal
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to Week 6. We have another big week ahead of us at St Mary’s. On Friday, weather permitting, we will hold our annual school athletics carnival. Many thanks to Bree Taylor for her organisation and Sarah Apps from Little Athletics, West Wyalong for their help in ensuring it is a fabulous day. If there are any parents wishing to volunteer to help on the day or in the canteen please contact the front office.
The first St Mary’s ‘Little Freeze’ was held last Friday. Thank you to Mrs Breust and to everyone for their support in raising much needed funds to fight MND. Despite the weather, the students enjoyed a fun filled day in their MJR groups and loved shouting out each day last week what we are thankful for at St Mary’s. The ice bucket relay was an entertaining event. Thanks to everyone who showed their support and donated toward the important Fight MND cause.
The Community Council will meet on Tuesday. The Community Council are an integral part of our school and come together to support, advise and raise funds for St Mary’s. The executive will meet at 5pm with Sarah Rose from the Catholic Education Office in Canberra. At 6, we will hold our normal meeting where everyone is invited.
Several students and parents have requested school counselling sessions similar to the ones held in 2023 with Emma McRae. Unfortunately, as you would be aware we no longer have access to her expertise. This is a great shame, however, the CE are providing support through Marymead CatholicCare. If you wish to take advantage of this service please see the attached information.
As you would be aware, our enrollment period for 2025 is well underway. As a part of this we have made a decision on our Kindergarten teacher for next year. Tessa Turner will look after our Kinder Kind class in 2025. We are excited about what she will bring to the role and look forward to her helping our new students settle into life at St Mary’s.
This week’s newsletter will feature our awesome Year 2 students!!
Remember my door is always open.
Acting Principal

@ St Mary's
The students and teachers had a wonderful time last Friday participating in games and raising money to support Fight MND's goal to find a cure for this ‘beastly’ disease. Thank you for your generous support financially and be reassured that every cent donated will be put towards important research and care for people suffering from Motor Neurone Disease. A big ‘chilly’ shout out to our Year 6 students and teachers who volunteered to be ‘ice bucketed’ on the day. You are all champions.
You can still make donations via Qkr! under St Mary's 'BIG FREEZE'.
