Dear Parents and Carers
The teachers of St Mary's have recently engaged with the National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) requirements. Part of these requirements is an interview between teachers and parents for students who have been identified as NCCD. I have been asked by the NCCD to share some information regarding this process.
Students need different types of help at school. Some students need a little help sometimes (minor adjustments) but other students need a lot of help nearly all the time (extensive adjustments). The type of help and support that a school provides is also very different depending on the needs of the student.
The national data collection helps governments and schools plan for the needs of students with additional needs. The aim of the data collection is to make sure that students with additional needs have access to same quality education as the others in their class.
If you would like more information please see the flowchart in the NCCD article later in the newsletter.
Our renovations are progressing nicely and we have included some pictures of the changes to the upstairs classrooms.

Year 6 Parents - Important Message
ZOOM MEETING - YEAR 6 STUDENTS ATTENDING ST FRANCIS NEXT YEAR
Mr James Sullivan, the Year 7 Coordinator at St Francis De Sales Regional College Leeton, will be holding a Zoom meeting on Monday which will incorporate a Google Presentation about the College and about coming into Year 7 next year. It will allow prospective students the chance to ask any questions that they may have.
At St Mary's we are facilitating our Year 6 students to participate in this meeting if they are enrolled at St Francis or interested in enrolling.
Please submit this form if you would like your Year 6 child to participate in this meeting. Remember if your child is already enrolled it is recommended your child attend this meeting, and if you are thinking of St Francis your child can also attend.
There is no need to complete this form if your child will not attend.
Permission Note for Zoom Meeting with St Francis College Leeton
Mr Sullivan has also created a Year 7 2021 Facebook page if you would like to join it. If you search 'St Francis de Sales, Leeton Year 7 2021' you will find it. This should be a good source of information for you and your child.
We are welcoming new enrolments for the 2021 school year. We appreciate that this is a significant decision for parents and know that new families will need time to consider all available options.
Please enrol online at our website with the link below or call at the school office for a paper form. https://smwms.nsw.edu.au/enrolment
If you require further information please ring and make an appointment.
Chelsea Nielsen, Larna Pilon, Claudia Murdoch and Max Cuthbertson

With the cooler weather there is already a large number of unmarked jumpers in the lost property area. Please label your child's clothing so the items can be returned to their owners.
Could you please have your children check the lost property or you are most welcome to visit the school and check yourself.
School Cross Country - On Again!
Our school cross country will be held on Tuesday 30 June 2020.
Please note there is no Western Region or Archdiocesan Cross Country this year.
Students in Years 3 to 6, plus Year 2 students who turn 8 in 2020 will compete on a course at school.
UPDATE: Kinder and Year 1 and Year 2 students who are 7 in 2020 will participate in a modified cross country after the primary cross country.
Unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions parents will not be able to attend and watch as in previous years.
No permission note will be required as the students are competing on the school grounds. Please contact the school if you do not wish your child to participate.

Year 5/6 Biannual Canberra Excursion
The dates proposed were Term 4, Week 1 Wednesday 14th October to Friday 16th October, 2020. Most of the itinerary was finalised and we had secured cabin accommodation at the Alivio Tourist Park which was a bonus. Costing had not been finalised but we were looking between $250 - $300 maximum. At the moment overnight school excursions are still banned but we are hoping that by Term 4 the ban may be lifted and the students can still attend the excursion.
Please mark these dates on your calendar and hopefully the excursion will be on. We will keep you informed as we know more.
